Job summary

CommuniCare Health Center Careers is seeking a Medical Assistant to support both front and back office operations in a busy primary care setting. The role includes administering injections, assisting with EKGs and screenings, and coordinating referrals and patient communication.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of MA experience or an MA diploma/certification, and is certified in BLS (AHA). Travel to other clinic sites may be required; familiarity with EMR/EHR systems is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year experience as a Medical Assistant and/or a Medical Assistant Diploma and/or a Medical Assistant Certification.
• Experience with EMR/EHR preferred.
• Experience in a primary health care setting preferred.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association.
• Ability to travel to other clinic sites as needed.
• Scheduled hours and/or work locations are subject to change.

Responsibilities

• Assists with day-to-day operations of front and back office.
• Administers injections and assists with non-invasive patient care procedures (e.g., EKGs, screenings).
• Obtains patient history, vital signs, and documents quality metrics per regulatory standards.
• Maintains inventory of medical supplies and ensures equipment is calibrated, charged, and cleaned.
• Registers patients, updates demographics, and verifies insurance plans as needed.
• Completes end-of-day reconciliation and ensures cash handling is secure.
• Prepares for next day clinic by identifying appointment types and chart preparation.
• Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
