Job summary

CommuniCare Health Center Careers is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform both front office and back office duties in a clinical setting. The role includes administering injections, assisting with EKGs and screenings, obtaining patient history and vital signs, and ensuring quality metrics are documented in compliance with regulatory standards.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience or related certification, plus BLS

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year experience as Medical Assistant and/or Medical Assistant Diploma or Certification.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Assist front and back office day-to-day operations and coordinate referrals and patient communication.
• Administer injections and assist with non-invasive patient care procedures (EKG, screenings).
• Obtain patient history and vital signs; ensure quality metrics and audits compliance.
• Maintain inventory and prepare equipment; verify calibration and cleaning.
• Register patients, update demographics, and process insurance; post encounters to funding/insurance plans.
• Perform end-of-day reconciliation and secure cash deposits.
• Prepare for next day by scheduling types and chart prep; screen patients for program eligibility.
• Provide exceptional customer service and assist other departments as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
