Job summary

The Franklin Group is hiring a Maintenance Technician in District Heights, MD. The role maintains the property buildings and grounds, diagnosing and repairing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, and other systems.

Daily duties include responding to resident work orders, routine upkeep, and turnover maintenance, with strict safety adherence and on-call availability. Qualifications include a HS diploma or GED, 1–3 years of related experience, and HVAC certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; 1–3 years related experience or training.
• HVAC certification preferred; CAMT recommended; Fair Housing Certification required within 1 day of hire.
• Must have a valid driver’s license to travel to daily activities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain efficient operation and upkeep of the property buildings and grounds.
• Diagnose problems and make repairs in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, drywall, exterior structural, and appliances.
• Perform general maintenance such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC repairs, carpentry, appliance repairs, glass replacement, etc.
• Respond promptly to resident work order requests and notify management on completion or back-ordered items.
• Responsible for daily repair and upkeep of the community and preseason/unit turnover maintenance.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and tools; keep work area clean and safe.
• Operate in accordance with OSHA standards and company safety policies.
• Available to be on-call as needed.
