Job summary

The Franklin Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Whittaker Place in Newport News, VA. This hourly, non-exempt role supports property upkeep, responds to work orders, and ensures safe, operable common spaces.

You will perform HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and appliance repairs, with an emphasis on timely, quality service and proper safety practices. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1–3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.
• HVAC certification preferred; CAMT recommended; Fair Housing certification within 1 day of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC repairs, carpentry, appliance repairs.
• Respond to resident work orders and notify management upon completion.
• Maintain daily repair and upkeep of the community.
• Inspect vacant units prior to new resident occupancy.
• Manage inventory of supplies and equipment owned by the community/company.
• Keep work area, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
• Comply with OSHA standards and company safety policies.
