Job summary

Franklin Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure the efficient operation of our community buildings and grounds in Newport News, VA. You will diagnose problems and perform repairs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and appliances.

Responsibilities include responding to resident work orders, maintaining tools and supplies, and upholding safety standards on site. This role is non-exempt and hourly, with a salary range of $17.00–$27.00 per hour and on-site work expectations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 1–3 years related experience preferred.
• HVAC certification is preferred; CAMT recommended.
• Fair Housing Certification required within 1 day of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repairs.
• Respond promptly to resident work orders and notify management on completion or delays due to backordered parts.
• Maintain and inventory all tools, supplies, and equipment for the community.
• Keep work areas clean and ensure safety policies are followed.
• Inspect and perform routine maintenance on pools, fountains, hot tubs, and amenity areas.
• Be available on an on-call basis as needed.
• Adhere to OSHA standards and company safety policies.
