Job summary

Horizon Management Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support three properties in the Janesville area. You will handle repairs, preventative maintenance, and coordinate with vendors to keep buildings in top condition.

The role requires on-call rotation every other week for Janesville properties, and a strong commitment to resident service. Ideally, candidates have 3+ years in multifamily maintenance and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Technical school or vocational training in building maintenance is helpful.
• Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in multi-family housing preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance required; travel to properties.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
• Diagnose and repair issues in apartments and common areas promptly.
• Complete monthly, quarterly, annual, seasonal maintenance tasks and record results.
• Communicate with residents and property managers regarding maintenance requests and resolutions.
• Prepare vacant units for occupancy; complete punch lists and unit checks.
• Follow safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and local codes; use PPE and safe work practices.
