Job summary

Akelius Real Estate Management in New York is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform repairs and diagnostics across residential properties. The role ensures properties are safe, well-maintained, and operational while supporting tenant satisfaction.

The position requires at least 2 years in building maintenance, a valid driver's license, and basic trades knowledge. EPA/HVAC/plumbing/electrical certs are a plus; Yardi Voyager experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
• Experience in building maintenance preferred (2+ years).
• EPA/HVAC/plumbing/electrical certifications a plus.
• Knowledge of building trades and safety codes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repair of building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and carpentry.
• Respond promptly to work orders with timely and professional service.
• Log ticket progress and update the work order system.
• Prepare vacant units for new tenants with painting, repairs, and cleaning.
• Maintain common areas and exterior grounds.
• Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow removal, landscaping, and HVAC filter changes.
• Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours emergencies, including holidays and weekends.
