Job summary

Roundhouse in Cottage Grove, MN is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to keep multifamily properties running smoothly. You will perform hands-on repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and pool/spa systems, respond quickly to work orders, and walk the property to catch issues early.

The role requires at least one year in maintenance, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift heavy objects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year in general maintenance and repair work.
• A working understanding of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, CPO, and carpentry systems.
• Strong communication and a genuine customer-service mindset.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• The physical capacity to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for long stretches, climb ladders, and work outdoors in all weather.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and property management software.
• Trade school or technical certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle hands-on repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and pool/spa systems.
• Respond fast to work orders and complete them with high quality.
• Walk the property to catch maintenance issues early and keep it compliant with safety/health codes.
• Protect curb appeal by maintaining grounds, exteriors, and common areas.
• Coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor to prioritize tasks and coordinate vendors.
• Keep clear records of work performed, materials used, hours, and completion status.
• Take turns in after-hours on-call rotation and assist with snow/ice removal.
• Maintain maintenance software to ensure orders are current, accurate, and timely.
• Follow all safety procedures per handbook, SOPs, OSHA standards, and labels.
