Job summary

B.HOM Student Living is seeking a Maintenance Technician for The Linc in Urbana, IL. The role supports preventative maintenance, unit turns, and emergency repairs to ensure a safe, well‑maintained living environment for residents.

You will diagnose and fix HVAC, plumbing and electrical issues, perform routine maintenance, and assist with vendor coordination. Evening, night, and weekend on‑call work may be required.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance, and general maintenance systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment and tools.
• Availability for night, weekend, and on‑call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and complete repairs involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliances, carpentry, drywall, and general maintenance.
• Schedule, monitor, and perform preventative maintenance activities.
• Complete apartment turns and prepare units for new residents.
• Ensure all work orders are completed promptly, professionally, and accurately.
• Perform emergency maintenance as required.
• Inspect buildings, grounds, and common areas to identify maintenance needs.
• Assist with scheduling and coordinating vendors and contractors.
• Support bid collection and vendor oversight for maintenance projects.
• Assist with purchasing maintenance supplies while adhering to budget guidelines.
