Job summary

Harbor Group Management Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep multifamily properties in optimal condition. You will tackle plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repairs while assisting residents and supporting safe, compliant operations.

You will perform preventative maintenance, prep vacant units, maintain common areas, manage tools and inventory, and ensure safety standards. On-call availability and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• One-year general maintenance experience (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, or appliance repair).
• HVAC certification preferred; EPA Type I & II or Universal refrigerant certification required or preferred.
• Multifamily maintenance experience is highly desired.
• Must be available for emergency on-call, including evenings and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license (for golf cart operation if applicable).
• Customer-service oriented with ability to interact professionally with residents.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety guidelines.
• Any other certifications as required by local and state laws.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, appliance repair, and glass replacement.
• Respond to resident service requests using a work order system and complete repairs per standards and codes.
• Conduct preventative maintenance for safe and efficient operation.
• Prepare vacant units by inspections, punch lists, scheduling contractors, and quality checks.
• Maintain amenity areas (breezeways, pools, common spaces) with cleaning and minor painting.
• Manage maintenance tools and inventory, track usage, and notify for reorders.
• Repair parts when possible to save costs and reduce replacements.
• Attend safety meetings, OSHA training, and report incidents accurately.
• Inspect work by vendors/contractors for quality and scope.
• Assist in property inspections to identify maintenance needs.
