Job summary

Southern Power in Salisbury, NC is seeking an Operations Technician to operate and maintain Plant Rowan's combined cycle plant. You will monitor electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical systems, troubleshoot issues, and keep maintenance records in Maximo.

This role supports system ownership and participates in fleet-wide reviews. Candidates should have 2–5 years CC operations experience, familiarity with turbine maintenance programs, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Two to five years of recent combined cycle operations experience.
• Experience with combustion turbine major maintenance programs.
• Experience with Toshiba steam turbines in combined cycle service.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain Plant Rowan's combined cycle power plant.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, maintain and repair electrical, instrumentation and mechanical systems.
• Maintain maintenance records in Maximo® work order system.
• Participate in fleet-wide operation review boards as a system owner.
• Perform project management and system ownership assignments as needed.
