Job summary

Calpine seeks an Operations & Maintenance Technician - Union to operate and maintain a power facility on site. The role includes troubleshooting, repairing mechanical and electrical equipment such as gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSG, compressors, motors, pumps, and related systems.

The candidate must hold an AA or equivalent or demonstrated related experience, have a valid driver's license, and be able to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or a combination of experience and education.

Responsibilities

• Fill in for Lead Operator on an as needed basis.
• Read meters, gauges, or automatic devices to record data such as temperature, vibration, hours of operation, pressure, and fluid levels.
• Keep management informed of unusual conditions, damaged equipment, and current job progress related to facility operations.
• Visually inspect and listen to equipment to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment or lubrication.
• Use procedures and manuals to maintain and repair equipment and utilize the Maintenance Management System.
