Job summary

NAES Corporation at the Commonwealth Chesapeake facility seeks an O&M Technician to operate and maintain turbine generators, control systems, and associated equipment with minimal supervision. You will perform preventive maintenance, calibration, installation, and troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation domains.

The role requires reading complex schematics, using Maximo for work orders, and adhering to Safety Management and Environmental plans.

Qualifications

• Procedural instructions understanding typically gained from four years of high school.
• Experience with electric generating equipment and turbine generator maintenance preferred.
• Strong knowledge of combustion turbine operations, safety, hazardous waste management, and parameter inspection/recording is desirable.
• Experience with industrial chillers and aero-derivative turbines is a plus.
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, or control systems is essential.
• Strong oral and written communication, plus familiarity with productivity tools (MS Office, CMMS) and maintenance logs is necessary.
• Ability to work well with others, be self-directed, and apply creative solutions to instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical challenges.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the facility as part of a team with minimal supervision.
• Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, installation, and troubleshooting of plant equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics; perform switching and tagging for systems.
• Use Maximo to generate tasks, work orders, and manage spare parts inventory.
• Contribute to Safety Management, Environmental, and Maintenance Plans and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain high safety and housekeeping standards in assigned areas.
• Collaborate with team to meet plant goals and ensure effective handoffs.
