Job summary

Camstex seeks an O&M Technician to operate and maintain a simple-cycle power plant across two sites in Washington County (Sandersville) and AL Sandersville (Warthen). The role requires hands-on electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical skills, with potential progression from single-skill to multi-skilled positions.

The candidate will ensure safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance, participate in on-call rotations, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical training preferred.
• 3–5 years of power plant experience.
• Experience with GE 7EA or 7FA combustion turbines preferred.
• Familiarity with Mark V, Mark VI, and Mark VIe control systems a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting, planning, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-based tools.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor plant systems to ensure safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
• Perform troubleshooting and repairs on electrical systems: switchgear, motors, breakers, plant wiring.
• Perform troubleshooting and repairs on instrumentation & controls: calibration, tuning, component replacement.
• Perform troubleshooting and repairs on mechanical systems: turbines, pumps, compressors, valves, rotating equipment.
• Maintain control of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) processes and ensure proper safety protocols.
• Qualify as a control room operator and adhere to all plant operating procedures.
• Document maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance records accurately.
• Support preventive and corrective maintenance programs in a team-oriented environment.
