Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Multi-craft Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift (3pm-11pm, Mon-Sat) to maintain, test, repair electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems in manufacturing. You will support production, troubleshoot faults, and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Requirements include tech or trade school certification, PLC programming experience, and the ability to work across shifts with strong safety discipline.

Qualifications

• Certified tech/trade school education beyond high school.
• Highly safety conscious with a focus on safe operation.
• Proven experience in electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields.
• Thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and diagnostic instruments.
• Willing to work any shift and overtime as required.
• Experience with PLC programming is necessary.
• High precision with minimum tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, NCs, power supplies, drives, gauges and test equipment.
• Plans and performs work requiring knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories, writing specs, local/national electrical codes, material properties, and operation principles.
• Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment following safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
• Advises operators and line mechanics on safe operation and requirements for electrical/electronic/mechanical equipment.
• Maintains maintenance records for identified equipment and performs preventive maintenance as directed.
• Assists maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting and training of others.
• Performs other duties as required.
