Job summary

Smurfit Westrock, a leader in sustainable packaging, is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our paper mill. You will repair, maintain and install mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and process equipment, while upholding the highest safety standards.

Expect to perform preventive maintenance, read blueprints and electrical schematics, troubleshoot PLC/DCS logic, and work with pumps, motors, and rigging. Requires a high school diploma and relevant apprenticeship or journeyman background.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Journeyman Certificate preferred.
• 4 years Mechanical or Electrical Apprenticeship preferred.
• 4 years of experience as a multi-specialty mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintain, and install plant production and service equipment including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, steam, water, and air systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and diagnose issues using blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions.
• Troubleshoot equipment, read electrical schematics, and interpret PLC & DCS logic.
• Operate hand and power tools and rig heavy machinery as needed.
