Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is hiring a Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical systems driving our manufacturing operations. You will work with production and maintenance teams to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting automation systems, reading schematics, and performing preventive maintenance while supporting safety and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Five years minimum troubleshooting industrial electrical control systems at component level.
• Two to three years electro automation system installation and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with automated industrial machinery including motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, three phase power systems, and industrial controls.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated production equipment.
• Install, configure, and support industrial automation systems, including motors, drives, servos, relays, PLCs, sensors, and power transmission equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment and control system issues at the component level to minimize downtime.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to improve reliability.
• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Support plant initiatives focused on safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
