Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is recruiting a Multi-craft Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift (3pm-11pm, Monday-Saturday) at our Lancaster, PA area facility. The role involves inspecting and repairing electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems to keep production lines running efficiently.

You will install, start up and shut down equipment following safety procedures and OSHA guidelines, advise operators, maintain records, perform preventive tasks, and assist with troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Must be educated through a tech or trade school beyond high school.
• Proven experience in electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields.
• Knowledge of electrical/electronic components and diagnostic instruments.
• Willing to work any shift and overtime as required.
• Computer experience and PLC programming are necessary.
• High precision with minimum tolerances.
• Ability to climb overhead structures and work in tight spaces.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment including programmable controls.
• Plans and performs work with knowledge of electrical codes and machine operation.
• Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment following safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
• Advises operators and line mechanics on safe operation and requirements.
• Informs management of potential problems and hazards.
• Maintains maintenance records for equipment and performs preventive maintenance.
• Assists maintenance personnel with troubleshooting and trains others.
• Performs other duties as required.
