Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant/production machinery. You will perform preventive maintenance and inspections to prevent downtime and ensure equipment meets operational requirements.

The role requires reading electrical schematics and mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic systems, with a focus on safety and adherence to company policies. Collaboration with the maintenance crew and reporting issues are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of related experience or training.
• Experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read electrical schematics.
• Ability to read mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.
• Electrical License or Journeyman license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair machinery and systems in the plant.
• Perform preventive maintenance and PMs to reduce downtime.
• Inspect equipment and address mechanical/electrical issues.
• Follow safety policies and maintain good housekeeping.
• Read schematics and troubleshoot pneumatic, hydraulic systems and PLCs.
• Communicate with management, employees, and vendors.
