Job summary

Dollar General seeks an Area Manager to lead all stores within the assigned Des Moines-area region, assuming full P&L responsibility and aligning with company objectives. You will guide store teams, drive area sales, and ensure optimal inventory, staffing, and service levels.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of multi-unit retail operations.
• Experience interpreting financial statements and managing budgets.
• Ability to recruit, develop and retain staff across districts.
• Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead all stores in the assigned area with full P&L responsibility.
• Drive area sales growth and optimize inventory presentation.
• Recruit, train and develop store leaders and teams.
• Ensure consistency with company policies and customer service standards.
• Communicate regional priorities and coordinate with district leadership.
• Travel weekly in company vehicle; manage scheduling and operations.
