Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a General Manager/Area Leader to oversee multiple stores within a defined region. You will be responsible for full P&L, operational excellence, and strategic execution across locations.

The role requires strong leadership, financial acumen, and the ability to drive sales growth while maintaining exceptional customer service and compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

• Four+ years retail management experience with progressively more responsibility, managing multi-unit operations with full P&L responsibility.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Big-box retail management and/or equivalent education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Foster a culture aligned with Dollar General’s mission and values.
• Administer human resources policies and practices fairly.
• Deliver superior customer service through well-run stores.
• Drive area sales growth to meet or exceed targets through quality orders and efficient flow processes.
• Efficiently utilize tools to maintain inventory presentation and management.
• Plan and execute company objectives while optimizing scheduling and productivity.
• Recruit, train, and develop employees to support store and locale goals.
• Protect company assets through loss prevention and expense controls.
• Identify and develop opportunities for store growth, merchandising, and operations improvements.
• Communicate divisional and regional priorities clearly to store teams.
