Job summary

Kforce is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist for a client in Tampa, FL to administer accurate and timely multi-state payroll processing. You will manage bi-weekly payroll runs, handle changes, garnishments, deductions, and ensure compliance with federal and state wage laws.

The role requires 5+ years in payroll, hands-on ADP Workforce Now, strong Excel skills, and the ability to respond to employee inquiries.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of multi-state payroll experience.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processing from time entry through final reconciliation.
• Familiarity with wage and hour regulations and year-end reporting.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly, multi-state payroll accurately and on schedule.
• Review timekeeping data, payroll exceptions, and payroll reports for accuracy.
• Process new hires, terminations, transfers, pay changes, deductions, and adjustments.
• Process manual checks, stop payments, retroactive payments, and payroll corrections.
• Administer garnishments and other payroll deductions.
• Reconcile payroll prior to processing and validate completed payroll reports.
• Process special payrolls, including bonuses and year-end adjustments.
• Prepare monthly payroll reporting and support Accounting reconciliations.
• Research and resolve employee and manager questions regarding payroll, taxes, PTO, banking, and deductions.
• Support quarterly and year-end reporting, including W-2 processing.
• Prepare wage and payroll reports for applicable agencies.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data.
• Support internal and external payroll audits.
• Develop ad hoc payroll and operational reports.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and controls.
