Job summary

Montage Hotels & Resorts in Irvine, CA is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to oversee bi-weekly multi-state payroll operations. You will collaborate with Payroll, HR, Benefits, Finance and hotel leadership to ensure data integrity, regulatory compliance and excellent service to associates.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of end-to-end payroll experience for a large workforce, strong Excel skills, and experience with Workday or ADP.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of end-to-end payroll experience for a multi-state workforce.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel for reporting, data analysis, and auditing.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly multi-state payroll activities from start to finish, including imports and tips.
• Review and audit employee time records for accuracy and approvals before processing.
• Process payroll adjustments, garnishments, tax levies, benefit deductions, and employment verifications.
• Support final pay calculations and termination payments in compliance with state regulations.
• Research, analyze, and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly.
• Collaborate with state agencies on wage reporting, unemployment claims, audits, and inquiries.
• Assist with payroll reconciliations, audits, quarter/year-end activities, and reporting.
• Support payroll system testing, enhancements, implementations, and process improvements.
• Respond to payroll questions from employees, managers, and leadership.
• Maintain payroll records and confidentiality.
• Assist Payroll Manager on special projects and cross-functional initiatives.
