Job summary

Kampgrounds of America is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll and benefits for up to 1,800 employees across the US and Canada, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

The role partners with HR and Dayforce to maintain confidential records, address employee questions, and perform quarterly and annual reporting, with a focus on internal controls and accurate 401(k) administration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of payroll processing experience.
• Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Ability to research, resolve and communicate complex payroll issues accurately and efficiently.
• Excellent communication abilities with aptitude in problem-solving.
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrated understanding of internal controls.
• Data driven problem solver with strong numerical skills.
• Confidentiality and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll, annual profit share and bonus checks for KOA employees.
• Record changes affecting net wages to update master payroll records.
• Process, audit and record documentation for employees and terminations.
• Assist in 401(k) administration and monthly corrections.
• Assist in administration of benefit payments and file feeds.
• Provide payroll information and address employee pay-related questions.
• Prepare timely final payroll checks for terminations in line with state law.
• Maintain compliant payroll records and supporting documents.
