Compensation ranges from $20 to $30 per hour, depending on experience, with a Monday–Friday 1st shift. Responsibilities include performing harvest steps, humane handling, carcass prep, sanitation, and adherence to HACCP and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of harvest floor, slaughter, or meat processing experience preferred.
• Physically capable of standing, heavy lifting, and working in hot, cold, and damp conditions.
• Able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Interest in knife skills and hands-on development on the job.
• Livestock handling background is a plus; beef cuts knowledge is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Perform all phases of the harvest process including stunning, bleeding, skinning, eviscerating, splitting, and trimming.
• Handle livestock humanely and in accordance with animal welfare requirements.
• Trim, wash, and weigh carcasses to meet quality and compliance standards.
• Maintain knife sharpness and keep harvest floor equipment in proper working condition.
• Keep workstations, walls, equipment, and the harvest floor clean and sanitized.
• Follow HACCP protocols and food safety requirements without exception.
• Support barn duties including weighing, feeding, and watering livestock as skills develop.
• Assist with general sanitation and end-of-shift cleanup procedures.
