Job summary

Illinois CancerCare is seeking a Medical Office Assistant to join our clinical team. This 32-hour-per-week role supports providers with clinical duties and collaborates with RNs, APNs, and physicians in exam and treatment rooms across Peru, Kewanee, and Eureka.

The MOA will escort patients, record vital signs, update medication lists, and assist with exams and procedures, while maintaining clinic flow and HIPAA compliance. Travel between clinics is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in healthcare preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and maintain clinic flow for scheduled visits.
• Record vital signs, height, and weight in the EMR.
• Review and update patient medication lists at each visit.
• Assist with patient preparation for exams and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Clean and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, and medical equipment.
• Order and manage clinical supplies and equipment.
• Ensure lab reports are recorded in the patient chart; request external results as needed.
• Support nursing staff in the treatment room and assist with patient needs, including IV removal.
• Travel to satellite clinic locations as needed.
• Perform additional clinical and clerical duties as requested.
• Adhere to HIPAA policies, the ILCC employee handbook, and code of conduct.
