Job summary

Illinois CancerCare in Peoria is seeking a full-time Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our clinical team. The MOA will assist providers with patient care and work closely with RNs, APNs, and physicians in exam and treatment settings.

Responsibilities include escorting patients, recording vitals in the EMR, updating medication lists, preparing patients for exams, and maintaining exam rooms and supplies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Healthcare experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and maintain clinic flow.
• Record vital signs, height, and weight in the EMR.
• Review and update patient medication lists at each visit.
• Assist with patient preparation for exams and minor procedures.
• Clean and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment.
• Order and manage clinical supplies and equipment.
• Ensure lab reports are recorded in the patient chart; request external results as needed.
• Support nursing staff in the treatment room and assist with patient needs.
• Travel to satellite clinic locations as needed.
• Perform additional clinical and clerical duties as requested.
• Adhere to HIPAA policies and the employee handbook.
