Job summary

Illinois CancerCare is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant (MOA) to join our clinical team. The MOA assists providers with clinical duties and works directly with RNs, APNs, and physicians in exam and treatment room settings.

Responsibilities include escorting patients, recording vital signs, updating medication lists, and assisting with exams and minor procedures. Travel to satellite clinics may be required and adherence to HIPAA is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years of experience in a healthcare organization preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Nurse's Assistant (CNA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and maintain clinic flow for scheduled visits.
• Record vital signs, height, and weight in the EMR.
• Review and update patient medication lists at each visit.
• Assist with patient preparation for exams and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Clean and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, and medical equipment.
• Order and manage clinical supplies and equipment.
• Ensure lab reports are recorded in the patient chart; request external results as needed.
• Support nursing staff in the treatment room and assist with patient needs, including IV removal.
• Travel to satellite clinic locations as needed.
• Perform additional clinical and clerical duties as requested.
• Adhere to HIPAA policies and the ILCC employee handbook.
