Job summary

Illinois CancerCare in Peoria is seeking a full-time Medical Office Assistant to join our clinical team and support providers in exam and treatment rooms. The MOA will work directly with RNs, APNs, and physicians to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Responsibilities include escorting patients, recording vital signs, updating medication lists, preparing for exams, maintaining exam rooms and supplies, and traveling to satellite locations as needed. Adherence to HIPAA and clinic policies is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience in healthcare preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and maintain clinic flow for scheduled visits.
• Record vital signs, height, and weight in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Review and update patient medication lists at each visit.
• Assist with patient preparation for exams and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Clean and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, and medical equipment.
• Order and manage clinical supplies and equipment.
• Ensure lab reports are recorded in the patient chart; request external results as needed.
• Support nursing staff in the treatment room and assist with patient needs, including IV removal.
• Travel to satellite clinic locations as needed.
• Perform additional clinical and clerical duties as requested.
• Adhere to HIPAA policies, the ILCC employee handbook, and code of conduct.
• Other duties as requested or assigned.
