Job summary

UDR, Inc. is seeking a Service Manager for the District of Columbia area, overseeing a multi-site portfolio totaling 463 units.

You will manage inspections, maintenance, and repairs to meet company standards and legal requirements, while leading a service team and guiding budget-conscious projects. The role involves coordinating emergency repairs, scheduling turnovers, and ensuring safety and quality across all communities.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years' experience in building and mechanical maintenance including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, painting and drywall, and/or pool maintenance.
• EPA Type II certification required; Type III or Universal may be required at some locations.
• Some locations require certification in pool operation (CPO).
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance requests and complete work orders within budgets.
• Lead service team and manage performance and training.
• Schedule and supervise vendor turns and inspections.
• Ensure safety, OSHA compliance, and risk management across properties.
• Maintain inventory, parts, and equipment within budget.
