Job summary

Planned Parenthood of Maryland in Maryland seeks an Area Manager – Health Center Operations to oversee operational performance, staff development, and service delivery across health centers in North/Central Maryland. You will coach center leaders to provide patient-centered care while achieving access, quality, and financial goals.

With 80% on-site and 20% remote cadence, travel to centers is expected; ensure OSHA/Title X/Medicaid compliance and drive continuous improvement in ambulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or related field required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations.
• Minimum of three (3) years directly supervising healthcare leaders or multi-site ambulatory/clinic operations.
• Deep understanding of ambulatory healthcare operations, financial/budget management, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Operational Oversight & Access: Monitor patient access, provider productivity, visit volume, and workflows across health centers; partner with Health Center Managers to optimize clinic flow.
• Leadership Development & People Operations: Hire, onboard, manage, and develop Health Center Managers; conduct performance reviews and succession planning.
• Financial Stewardship: Monitor revenue, expenses, and budget variances; review monthly financial reports and support revenue cycle performance.
• Quality, Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure health center compliance with OSHA, Title X, Medicaid/Medicare, PPFA accreditation and clinical standards.
• Patient Experience & Service Recovery: Promote patient-centered care and guide managers on service recovery processes.
• Strategic & Community Engagement: Support growth initiatives and represent PPM in partnerships and forums.
