Job summary

Commonpoint is seeking a Porter for the Forest Hills area to maintain clean facilities, set up rooms, and support porter duties across multiple sites. The role reports to the Facilities Manager and requires the ability to travel between agency sites within NY Metro.

Typical duties include cleaning, setup, and coordination with the Facilities team, with a focus on reliability, safety, and meeting program needs. This is a union, nonprofit environment offering competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Three or more years of porter experience.
• Must be physically able to perform duties (lift 50 lbs, bend, stoop).
• Knowledge of household tools and cleaners.
• Experience operating cleaning equipment.
• Able to drive and travel between sites in NY Metro area.

Responsibilities

• Routine cleaning of buildings: sweeping, mopping, garbage collection, bathrooms and classrooms.
• Room set-ups as schedule requires; assist with portering duties at multiple locations.
• Act as a porter at multiple Commonpoint locations as required.
• Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
