Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of three years of building maintenance experience.
• Must be able to work weekends/holidays.
• Ability to stand and lift up to 70 pounds on occasion.
• Able to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
• Assist with garbage removal following NYC (DSNY) guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of the Shelter building and environment including offices, kitchens, restrooms, and common areas.
• Inspect the building daily and address safety issues; perform routine maintenance.
• Handle on-site projects (painting, repairs) as assigned.
• Maintain and exterminate as needed and assist with garbage removal.
• Receive deliveries and log packages; coordinate with facility manager.
• Maintain inventory of custodial supplies and equipment.
• Remove snow and ice; ensure sidewalks and walkways are safe.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
