Job summary

The County of Galveston is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee daily operations of county facilities, ensuring safety, reliability, cleanliness, and readiness across multiple sites. You will supervise the Maintenance and Custodial Supervisors, coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance, monitor work orders and asset performance, and manage vendor contracts to meet service levels.

This role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in facilities, with 3+ years in supervision, plus

Qualifications

• Five years of progressively responsible experience in facilities maintenance and operations.
• At least three years of supervisory or management experience.
• Experience managing work order systems and preventive maintenance programs.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise the Maintenance Supervisor and Custodial Supervisor and oversee staffing, scheduling and performance.
• Ensure facilities are safe, functional, clean, and ready across multiple locations.
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs and monitor building systems and asset condition.
• Manage work order intake, prioritization, and documentation to meet service levels.
• Coordinate with departments, vendors, and contracts to address facilities issues and disruptions.
• Lead response to facility disruptions and emergency incidents as needed.
