Job summary

Center for Justice Innovation seeks an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee maintenance and repairs across New York City sites, including Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens, Staten Island, and Brooklyn, with Newark, NJ as needed.

The role is hands-on, requiring strong repair skills and coordination with site managers, contractors, and the Technology department for setup and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 3–5 years in facilities, maintenance and renovations.
• Trade license with 3+ years experience (e.g. electrician, plumbing, HVAC).
• Knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance and related services.
• Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to repair tickets from project sites.
• Perform basic repairs (plumbing, lighting, electrical, carpentry).
• Regularly inspect and coordinate repairs and maintenance.
• Ensure code compliance for fire safety, mechanical and electrical systems.
• Assist with events, trainings and large meetings at sites.
• Coordinate office moves and equipment delivery.
• Assist with IT setup (wireless access points, cameras).
