Job summary

Find Great People | FGP is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to support multiple Upstate South Carolina facilities. You will be the primary safety resource, partnering with HR, operations, and leadership to ensure regulatory compliance and promote a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of safety experience in manufacturing, logistics, or industrial settings.
• ISO 14001 experience preferred.
• OSHA regulations knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary safety and environmental resource across multiple facilities.
• Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve workplace safety programs, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable safety and environmental regulations.
• Conduct facility inspections, safety audits, hazard assessments, and risk assessments.
• Identify potential safety concerns and recommend practical solutions related to equipment, warehouse operations, fire protection, emergency equipment, chemical handling, waste management, and general facility safety.
• Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, near misses, and unsafe conditions and coordinate root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Support ISO 14001 requirements, including participation in audits, documentation, corrective actions, and ongoing compliance activities.
• Partner with operational leadership to evaluate equipment, processes, and facility changes for potential safety risks.
• Support programs related to lockout tagout, equipment safety, ergonomics, personal protective equipment, respiratory protection, emergency response, and other applicable safety requirements.
• Develop and coordinate safety training for employees, supervisors, and temporary employees.
• Maintain required safety documentation, training records, incident reporting, compliance records, and performance metrics.
• Help establish consistent safety and environmental practices across multiple locations.
• Provide ongoing safety and environmental reporting to leadership.
• Stay current on applicable regulatory requirements and communicate necessary changes throughout the organization.
• Promote a proactive safety culture focused on prevention, accountability, education, and continuous improvement.
• Provide support for urgent safety matters outside of normal business hours when necessary.
