Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club, JB Duke Hotel, and The Lodge at Duke Medical Center are seeking an Area Human Resources Manager to lead HR operations across three properties in Durham. You will partner with executives to guide employee relations, recruitment, benefits, and compliance while advancing a culture of engagement and service excellence.

The role focuses on strengthening leadership capabilities, coaching managers, and ensuring best-in-class HR practices across the employment lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of progressive HR experience.
• Experience handling employee relations and advising leaders.
• Prior HR leadership or supervisory experience required.
• Hospitality, hotel, restaurant, or other service-industry HR experience preferred.
• SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP/PHR/SPHR or similar certification is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws (federal, state, local).
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Responsabilités

• Serve as a trusted HR partner to associates and leaders on employee relations and performance coaching.
• Lead recruitment activities across three properties, including onboarding and offers.
• Develop and support associate engagement and retention programs.
• Partner with leaders on performance management processes and development conversations.
• Identify training needs to strengthen leadership capabilities and service excellence.
• Support benefits administration and HRIS recordkeeping with data integrity.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies across all properties.
• Support workplace investigations and maintain confidentiality.
