Goodwin Recruiting is partnering with a growing hospitality ownership and management group to hire an experienced Controller to lead accounting operations for a portfolio of hotels. This role demands ownership mindset, problem solving, and ability to develop teams while improving financial processes.

You will oversee all hotel accounting operations, manage closings, reconciliations, budgets, and multi-property reporting, and drive system upgrades to enhance accuracy and controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including substantial hotel accounting experience.
• Direct experience managing accounting for multiple hotels or hospitality properties.
• Strong GAAP, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage accounting operations and resolve complex financial discrepancies.
• Experience supervising accounting staff and improving accounting processes.
• Strong Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software.
• Comfortable learning new systems and adapting to technology-driven accounting processes.

Responsabilités

• Oversee all accounting operations for a portfolio of hotels, ensuring accurate financial reporting and GAAP compliance.
• Manage monthly and year-end closings, reconciliations, budgets, and multi-property financial statements.
• Resolve accounting backlogs, improve financial accuracy, and streamline processes and internal controls.
• Lead accounting system improvements and support the transition to a new hospitality accounting platform.
• Oversee cash management, banking, vendor payments, capital expenditures, and financial reporting to ownership and lenders.
• Support audits, tax preparation, hotel acquisitions, and financial due diligence.
• Lead and develop a small accounting team, establishing accountability and efficient workflows.
• Partner with ownership and hotel operations to support continued growth and expansion.
