Job summary

Onvo is seeking a Restaurant Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of restaurant equipment across multiple locations. The role combines preventative and reactive maintenance to ensure peak operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues, performing routine upkeep on ovens, fryers, and refrigeration, and assisting with new equipment installations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, or culinary equipment repair preferred.
• Ability to diagnose and repair commercial kitchen equipment, including gas, electrical, and refrigeration systems.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on kitchen equipment including ovens, fryers, grills, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, and other food service machinery.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues affecting restaurant operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve HVAC systems, exhaust hoods, and refrigeration units.
• Conduct basic repairs and maintenance on facility infrastructure, such as lighting, plumbing fixtures, and minor carpentry.
• Respond promptly to emergency repair requests to minimize downtime and disruption to restaurant service.
• Order and manage inventory of spare parts and tools necessary for repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
• Collaborate with restaurant managers and staff to understand equipment needs and prioritize repairs.
• Adhere to safety regulations and company policies during maintenance and repair work.
• Assist in the installation of new equipment as needed.
• Provide basic training to restaurant staff on proper equipment usage and minor troubleshooting.
