Job summary

Sun Communities & Sun Outdoors is seeking a Corporate Accountant to prepare, review, and reconcile financial information for multiple entities. You will adjust journal entries, support consolidated statements, and assist with budgets and reports across business units.

You will analyze variances, maintain the corporate general ledger, and prepare audit work papers. A Bachelor's in accounting or related field and 3 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or related field is required.
• 3 years accounting experience is required.
• Knowledge of advanced bookkeeping principles and practices.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow complex verbal and written instructions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; email and internet use.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Reviews financial statements to verify accuracy and prepares adjusting journal entries by business unit.
• Assists management with monthly results and analyzes actual vs. budget variances.
• Analyzes and reconciles balance sheet accounts and prepares adjusting entries as needed.
• Prepares work papers for quarterly reviews and annual audits.
• Performs multi-entity tasks involving data research and reconciliation.
• Maintains corporate general ledger and assists with consolidation of financial statements.
• Prepares accounting details and supporting documents for auditors.
• Assists with annual operating budgets and monthly financial reports.
