Job summary

The Global Ambassador Hotel in Phoenix invites experienced sommeliers to join a world-class beverage program. You will rotate across multiple dining concepts, curating a compelling wine list and guiding guests with thoughtful pairings to elevate their experiences.

Under the direction of the Wine Director, you will educate guests, manage the wine cellar, train staff, and host tastings that showcase our diverse portfolio.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of luxury dining room and/or wine experience.
• Ability to curate a wine list with chefs and management.
• Educate guests on varietals, regions, and styles.
• Ensure proper stock and organization of wine cellar.
• Plan and host wine tastings and events.
• Uphold health, safety, and alcohol service regulations.
• Stay current on wine trends and winemaking techniques.

Responsibilities

• Curate and maintain an engaging wine list in collaboration with the chefs and management team.
• Offer thoughtful food and wine pairing recommendations that elevate the guest’s dining experience.
• Educate and guide guests through the wine selection, sharing knowledge about varietals, regions, and styles.
• Ensure the wine cellar is properly stocked, organized, and managed to support service needs.
• Train and support wait staff by sharing wine knowledge and pairing insights.
• Plan and host wine tastings and special events to enhance guest engagement and brand experience.
• Uphold all health, safety, and alcohol service regulations.
• Stay current on wine trends, regions, and winemaking techniques to continually enhance offerings.
