Job summary

The RMR Group in Atlanta seeks a Building Engineer to oversee operation and maintenance of HVAC and MEP systems across multiple properties. You will work under supervision, respond to tenant requests, and ensure safety and compliance while maximizing property value.

Key duties include preventive maintenance, equipment logging, coordinating with vendors, and reviewing building systems for upgrades. A strong customer service mindset and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment are

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• 3-5 years of building maintenance experience or commensurate experience in a trade (plumbing, electrical, HVAC).
• HVAC or electrical technical school training preferred.
• Experience with automated building management systems.
• Ability to interpret mechanical, electrical blueprints and schematics.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work extended periods of time without relief, including overtime-type assignments.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and log HVAC and MEP equipment under supervision.
• Complete tenant service requests and maintain positive tenant relations.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
• Maintain equipment logs and assist in ordering stock and supplies.
• Respond to emergency situations and coordinate with contractors/vendors.
• Inspect elevator and fire alarm systems and ensure compliance with rules.
• Coordinate off-site duties using a personal vehicle and maintain safety practices.
