Job summary

The RMR Group is seeking a skilled Building Engineer to oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing and life-safety systems across properties. You will work with the Lead Engineer and property managers to deliver reliable operations and exceptional tenant service.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of maintenance experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to read blueprints. This on-site role requires a focus on safety, compliance and teamwork across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of building maintenance experience or commensurate experience in a trade (plumbing, electrical, HVAC).
• HVAC or electrical technical school training preferred.
• Experience with automated building management systems.
• Ability to interpret mechanical, electrical blueprints and schematics.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and log HVAC and MEP equipment under supervision.
• Complete tenant service requests and maintain positive tenant relations.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
• Maintain equipment logs and inventories.
• Coordinate fire alarm and sprinkler shutdowns with contractors as needed.
• Respond to emergency situations and tenant concerns.
• Ensure compliance with codes and safety regulations.
• Daily communication with property management and engineers.
