Job summary

The RMR Group LLC is seeking a Building Engineer to maintain HVAC/MEP equipment and support property management at a medical building in Honolulu, Hawaii. The role involves preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, and prompt tenant service responses to maximize property value.

You will work with property managers and engineers, manage logs, and coordinate with contractors for fire alarm, elevator, and construction activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of building maintenance experience in plumbing, electrical, or HVAC.
• HVAC or electrical technical school training preferred.
• Experience with automated building management systems.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical blueprints/schematics.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work extended hours if needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and log HVAC/MEP equipment.
• Complete tenant service requests and maintain tenant relations.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Maintain logs of preventive work.
• Inspect and secure life-safety systems and building equipment.
• Coordinate elevator maintenance and active construction areas.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
