Job summary

Harbor Group is seeking a Building Engineer for a large Class A office building in Kennesaw, GA. You will operate, inspect, and maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life-safety systems under the Chief Engineer’s direction, ensuring optimal performance and safety for tenants.

Responsibilities include hands-on maintenance of HVAC/MEP equipment, responding to requests promptly, and maintaining a calm, professional presence in emergencies. Overtime and after-hours work may be required.

Qualifications

• 2 years of technical experience in building engineering (HVAC, plumbing, electrical equipment, repair and maintenance)
• Must possess valid DL
• Able to work overtime on weekends and after hours for on-call or emergency situations

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains all HVAC and MEP equipment under the direction of the Chief Engineer.
• Develops and maintains positive tenant relations through prompt, courteous response to tenant requests.
• Operates equipment as necessary within the guidelines set forth by the Chief Engineer to assure proper building functions.
• Maintains professional appearance and manner at all times while in the complex.
• Maintains calm demeanor in emergency situations.
• Assists in complying with all City, State and Federal safety and environmental laws, codes, standards and regulations.
• Performs general maintenance and limited operations of the HVAC and MEP equipment under the supervision and direction of the Chief Engineer.
• Assists in the ordering, stocking and inventory of parts and supplies as directed by the Chief Engineer.
• Induces water treatment chemicals in the heating and cooling systems at the proper amounts and times.
• Performs chemical analysis tests as set forth by the supervisor, reporting any abnormalities and substandard results
• Performance of ongoing preventive and repair response work orders on building and tenant mechanical, electrical and other installed systems, equipment, and other components.
