Job summary

Paycom seeks a skilled Mill-Turn Operator to set up and run CNC mill-turn machines, producing high-precision components to engineering drawings in a fast-paced shop environment.

You will read blueprints, program (Esprit), inspect parts with calipers and micrometers, perform routine tool changes, and maintain equipment. The role emphasizes safety, quality, Lean practices, and collaboration with engineers and QA to meet delivery targets.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience operating CNC Mill/Turn or similar machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of CNC programming, machine setup, and operation.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM systems is a plus.
• Familiar with Mill/Turn equipment.
• Attention to detail and ability to read technical drawings and GD&T.
• Knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA) related to machine operation.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mill-turn machines to perform precision turning/milling operations.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and setup sheets.
• Use CNC programming software (Esprit) or manual programming to set up machining jobs.
• Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure tolerances.
• Perform routine tool changes, cleaning, and lubrication.
• Identify and troubleshoot machine/tooling issues to minimize downtime.
• Document production data, maintain records of maintenance and inspections.
• Collaborate with engineers, QC teams, and supervisors to ensure quality and on-time delivery.
