Role Description

The MTSS Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Woodbury, NJ, responsible for leading the implementation and ongoing refinement of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports across the district. This role involves working closely with school administrators, teachers, counselors, and support staff to design and monitor academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions for students. The MTSS Coordinator will analyze school-wide and student-level data, facilitate problem‑solving teams, and support the use of evidence-based practices in classrooms and support programs. Daily responsibilities include developing progress monitoring systems, providing professional development, coaching staff in MTSS processes, and ensuring alignment with district policies and state guidelines. The role also requires regular communication with families and community partners to support student success and reinforce a culture of collaboration and equity.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in MTSS, RTI, or similar tiered intervention frameworks, including academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports.
• Strong skills in data analysis, progress monitoring, and use of assessment tools to inform instructional and intervention decisions.
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (administrators, teachers, counselors, specialists) to design and implement student support plans.
• Ability to plan and deliver professional development, coaching, and training for staff on MTSS practices and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly to staff, students, and families.
• Proven organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple initiatives across schools.
• Commitment to equity, inclusive practices, and culturally responsive education within a diverse school community.
• Relevant teaching or pupil services certification; master’s degree in education, school psychology, counseling, or related field preferred.
• Previous experience in K–12 education, particularly in instructional leadership, student support services, or school improvement roles.
