Job summary

The York City School District is seeking an Elementary Teacher to lead initiatives aimed at enhancing student achievement. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree, valid teaching certification, and at least five years of teaching experience, with a preference for expertise in Special Education.

Your role will include coordinating the MTSS Team, monitoring student progress, and providing professional development. Candidates must be knowledgeable in culturally responsive teaching and technology use.

This position is based in the Administration Building.

Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree in Education, Special Education, or Reading Specialist preferred) with extensive coursework in Special Education.
• Valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate(s) required.
• Minimum five (5) years teaching experience.
• Knowledge of instruction, relevant curriculum and strategies leading to success for students not meeting grade‑level standards.
• Experience in Special Education and/or English language instruction preferred.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Organize, coordinate and co‑facilitate the work of the District MTSS Team for the designated school.
• Appropriately use and facilitate the use of program quality/fidelity data and outcome data at all levels of the system (District and building‑level analysis).
• Assist with designing intervention and monitoring response to intervention for students that are struggling.
• Facilitate the school MTSS Team in developing strategic plans for intervention and growth for all students.
• Monitor and report student achievement data associated with the multi‑tier assessments.
• Manage student intervention caseloads.
• Mentor and lead school‑based problem‑solving teams through development and implementation of MTSS at all tiers.
• Serve as a liaison to administrators, teachers, counselors, school social workers, school psychologists and other stakeholders to develop appropriate positive behavior interventions and supports through MTSS.
• Customize and facilitate professional development in behavior and MTSS based on school needs.
• Develop others with effective coaching strategies.
• Read, interpret and apply legal mandates, policies, rules, regulations and operational procedures pertaining to school and departmental operations.
• Provide support for schools to accelerate student achievement and eliminate achievement gaps.
