Job summary

The MTSS Coordinator at Marcus Hook Elementary provides leadership, coordination, and oversight of the MTSS framework to ensure the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of all students are identified and addressed.

The Coordinator collaborates with staff and families to compile and analyze data, implement evidence-based practices, monitor student progress, facilitate problem-solving teams, and promote equitable outcomes for all learners.

Qualifications

• Valid Pennsylvania instructional or educational specialist certification.
• Minimum of five years of successful experience in elementary education.
• Experience using data to drive instructional and intervention decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the district’s MTSS framework.
• Coordinate academic, behavioral, attendance, and social-emotional interventions across all tiers of support.
• Lead the collection, analysis, and interpretation of multiple sources of student data.
• Maintain MTSS procedures, protocols, and documentation systems in alignment with district, federal, and state regulations.
• Coordinate, monitor and support intervention implementation by teachers, specialists, and support staff to ensure fidelity.
• Monitor intervention effectiveness and student growth through progress-monitoring systems and ongoing record-keeping.
• Prepare reports and presentations for school and building teams.
• Assist in building staff capacity through consultation and instructional coaching to implement evidence-based instructional and behavioral practices based on data.
• Collaborate with principals, interventionists, reading specialists, school psychologists, counselors, social workers, special education staff, and classroom teachers to develop intervention plans which address student needs.
• Develop 504 Service Agreements which meet student needs.
• Partner with families to communicate intervention plans, Service Agreements, and support strategies.
• Compile documentation for special education referrals.
• Provide instructional, behavioral, and/or social-emotional interventions directly to students when staffing, scheduling, or student needs require.
• Design, facilitate and deliver professional learning, coaching and job-embedded support for staff related to MTSS
• Ability to balance direct student support, intervention oversight, systems management, and staff capacity-building

Position Summary

The MTSS Coordinator provides leadership, coordination, and oversight of the school's Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework to ensure the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of all students are identified and addressed. This role serves as a systems leader and capacity-builder, providing direct intervention, delivering coaching, professional development, and technical assistance to strengthen the framework.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Thorough knowledge of MTSS, Response to Intervention (RtI), and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
• Strong understanding of elementary curriculum, instruction, assessment, and intervention practices.
• Knowledge of academic, behavioral, attendance, and social-emotional support systems.
• Ability to compile, analyze and interpret student data for decision-making purposes.
• Excellent facilitation, coaching, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with staff, students, families, and community partners.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment.

Qualifications
