Job summary

Franciscan Health Indianapolis is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Technologist to join our clinical laboratory team in Indianapolis. This role will perform specimen processing, test performance and reporting results for waived, moderate and high complexity testing under the Director's authority.

The candidate will participate in quality control, quality assurance and ensure compliance with JCAHO, CAP, CLIA, and other applicable agencies; specimen collection may be required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
• Bachelor degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology from an accredited college or university.
• Bachelor degree in chemical, physical or biological sciences. At least 1 year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process specimens and perform tests as authorized, including waived, moderate and high complexity.
• Report results accurately and timely according to established procedures.
• Participate in quality control procedures and comply with QA standards (JCAHO, CAP, CLIA).
• Perform specimen collection as necessary.

Shift: 3 x 12-Hour shifts per week, every 3rd weekend; Weekend and/or Holiday Rotation

WHAT WILL YOU DO

This individual is responsible for specimen processing, test performance and reporting test results. Testing performed will include waived, moderate and high complexity tests as authorized by the Director. He/she will report results of all tests performed according to established procedures. In addition this individual will participate fully in all quality control procedures and comply with quality assurance and quality management standards within the department as outlined by the department, JCAHO, CAP, CLIA and other applicable agencies. He/she will perform specimen collection as necessary.

MLT

Associates degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.

MT

Bachelor degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology from an accredited college or university.
